Star Training is a vibrant and exciting training and consultancy company which was set up in 2010 to support businesses and training providers across the UK.

Since 2010, the team has expanded to ensure that we can proactively meet the diverse needs of our clients. This brings together a wealth of skills and experience from a variety of backgrounds, covering all aspects of corporate training as well as professional development for teachers and trainers.

Our mission is to provide inspiring, professional and engaging training and development courses to support individuals and businesses nationwide. Our strong values underpin all training courses and drive us to develop fun, thought-provoking and dynamic sessions. We strive to provide our delegates not just with an understanding of the questions, but the answers, strategies and techniques to make a difference, empowering individuals to make positive changes.

Meet the Team

Gillian Courtney

Gillian from Star Training

Gillian has always been passionate about teaching and training, believing that training sessions don’t have to be boring lectures by someone who is ‘dumping’ their knowledge onto others. Gillian firmly believes in the power of active learning and engaging the audience in the content to achieve the best outcomes.

Having worked in the training and development sector for over 15 years, Gillian has successfully delivered train the trainer sessions, mentoring and coaching to individuals and businesses throughout the UK and Europe. This has encompassed supporting both private and government funded organisations.

Gillian is a literacy and numeracy subject specialist and has become an NCETM Level 3 Mathematics Professional Development Accredited Lead. Gillian has particular experience of delivering training in interview techniques, presentation skills, body language techniques and communication.

Denzell Cooper

Denzell from Star Training

As a Numeracy Subject Specialist, Denzell has excelled in making learning maths fun. He has a wealth of experience in supporting trainers to develop their own skills in order to enhance the experience for their own learners. Recently he has become an NCETM Level 3 Mathematics Professional Development Accredited Lead.

Denzell’s philosophy is that everyone is capable; as trainers it is our job to find a way to unlock that potential by challenging, assisting and guiding the individual to the point where they understand the process, rather than remembering the answer.

Denzell has a wealth of experience in both the corporate and public funded sectors and has delivered training in employability skills, interview techniques including presentation skills, and confidence building. Most recently, Denzell has developed a comprehensive training programme in maths for numeracy teaching and has taken this opportunity to embed his love of IT to create a blended learning training programme.

Carol Gidziewicz

Carol from Star Training

As a Chartered Librarian and Literacy subject specialist, Carol recognises the value of advanced reading strategies and effective communication skills as an essential element to successful business.

Carol has a passion for embracing the diversity of her delegates and endeavours to draw on this experience to enhance her training sessions. Having recently achieved her PGCE from Greenwich University, she was awarded a Grade 1 - Outstanding for her teaching practice.

Carol has trained clients in the private sector as well as colleges and specialises in business and management skills, effective communication, presentation skills and managing challenging audiences. Most recently Carol has developed a highly successful training programme in English for literacy and language teaching and has delivered interactive workshops and 1:1 coaching and mentoring to support her delegates.

Clive Webb

Clive from Star Training

As an experienced and knowledgeable learning and development professional, Clive possesses a wealth of real world experience which he shares in a unique, engaging and thought provoking style. His dynamic and engaging approach to training sessions encourages delegates to achieve results they never dreamt were possible.

Clive prides himself on tailoring his training and coaching sessions to meet individual requirements, but his team building sessions need to be seen to be believed. In addition to a traditional approach, his sessions develop team working to new levels, exploring and pushing boundaries by breaking boards with their bare hands, bending and snapping arrows in their throats and walking barefoot on 12 feet of broken glass!

Having trained in both the public and private sectors over the last 10 years, Clive is experienced in delivering a wide variety of subjects, including assertiveness, confidence building, presentation skills, conflict resolution, practical problem solving and lone worker and personal safety workshops to name but a few.
