What is this course about?

This two day gold standard package combines the Perfecting Design and Mastering Delivering courses into one package. Day one will cover a range of interesting approaches to creating a powerful and inspiring presentation. From effective planning and preparation techniques to exploring powerful slide design strategies, this course provides a comprehensive and interactive approach to designing the perfect presentation.

Day two covers a range of fun and interesting strategies and techniques to help you master delivery of your next presentation or public speaking event. It will focus on verbal and non-verbal communication skills and demonstrate how to make small changes which will have a big impact on your next presentation.

Who should attend?

This two day advanced course is the perfect option for anyone who struggles to know where to start when creating a memorable and effective presentation and is hit by the sinking feeling when faced with public speaking and delivering a presentation.

Whether you are presenting to a small group of colleagues, a huge room full of people or at a management meeting, this course will help you apply a range of strategies to create a memorable and engaging presentation that will capture interest from the very beginning and ensure your audience leave with a lasting message.

We will give you strategies and techniques to avoid creating a ‘death by PowerPoint’ style presentation, overcome the jelly legs, shaky voice and rapid breathing and help you become a confident, dynamic and engaging presenter. Whether you have done one or one hundred presentations in the past, you will discover new techniques or approaches to ensure your next presentation is a hit.

Structure

What will we cover?

Each day will start at 9:15 with refreshments and registration, ready for a 9:30 start.

Day 1

Day 1 morning session will cover:

Profiling the target audience
Effective planning strategies
Setting your aims
Structuring your presentation
Creating Impact

A catered lunch provides an opportunity to network with the trainer and other delegates in a more informal setting.

Day 1 afternoon session will cover:

Presentation Approaches
Slide Design techniques
Visual Aids
Practise

Day 2

Day 2 morning session will cover:

Effective communication
Identifying the cause of nerves
Body language evolution
Mastering Body Language

At the end of each session you will have the opportunity to deliver a short presentation and receive individualised feedback and techniques for improvement from your trainer.

Day 2 afternoon session will cover:

Elements of speech
Mastering Vocal Delivery
Plenty of opportunities to practise throughout the day

Your day will conclude by 16:30 where you will receive a certificate to confirm completion of the course and a helpful booklet with a range of skills from the course and some additional activities and techniques to try out on your next presentation.

What can I expect?

Our experienced, friendly trainers will work closely with you to develop your skills. Groups are kept small to give you the maximum opportunity for individual attention.

Each day will incorporate a range of interactive activities to help you practise the strategies, tools and techniques we will be introducing you to; this will include input from the trainer, group discussions and a hands-on approach to design.

You will also be given plenty of opportunities to deliver short presentations of your choice so that your trainer can provide you with personalised feedback on your strengths and suggest techniques to develop your areas for improvement.

Our intention is that you will have fun during the day, but leave the course having practised a range of strategies and with the improved confidence to tackle your next presentation head on.
